High Tech Lenses for Aging Eyes
As we grow older, our eyes begin to age as well. Even if you have never had any vision problems or have never worn glasses, you may find that it's more difficult to read, look at a computer monitor or focus on small objects. You may need to hold a book or menu at arm's length to be able to read it. Typically, people start to experience these types of changes in their sight once they reach 40. Known as presbyopia, this is believed to be a result of a loss of flexibility in the lenses of your eyes due to aging. Customized Progressive Lenses
Progressive lenses, or bifocals, are the most common way to correct presbyopia. Combining two lenses in one, they correct both nearsightedness and farsightedness in one pair of glasses. How Varilux® Ipseo™ Lenses Work
Each of us has an individual way that we look at the world. Some of us move our eyes to see things and others rely more on moving their heads. We develop these patterns in childhood and they become second nature to us as adults. They also affect how we experience sight while wearing glasses. Varilux® Ipseo™ lenses account for your specific patterns of sight and are custom made for you. We use the advanced VisionPrint System™ to measure your head-eye movements, then apply these measurements to design your lenses. The result allows you to experience the most natural sight, bringing you as close as possible to the sight you had before presbyopia.
